We take groups payments and break them down so individuals can pay their share
Paying is probably the single most vexing element of the planning process. Getting payments organised, calculated and then paid consumes a lot of energy. At the heart of the requirement is that the organiser does not have to pay the whole lump sum and then get reimbursed: not only is this impractical, it is also very risky for the organiser who has to chase the other members of the group - especially tricky is some of them don't attend. There is also a timing issue - when should groups pay. There is also the underlying technology which remains painful and chaotic. Payment gateways need a lot of work, customers want to be able to pay in different ways - credit card, paypal, etc. Then again, different countries have different payment gateways and regulations. Our system is designed to allow us to implement different payment methods for our different territories and if architectured around the likelihood that it is all going to change very soon!
